Community Manager

 Full Time | New York, NY (lower east side)

We’re looking for a Community Manager to join our team and energize our community of app makers. As Community Manager, you’ll be responsible for communicating appFigures to the world through social media and IRL events. Our audience is hungry for insights, and lives and breathes social media. Like every member of the appFigures, team you'll also be involved in making decisions about product development and the user experience.


  • Maintain, grow, and excite our community of app makers across different social media channels including: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and more.
  • Identify and maintain strategic relationships with industry influencers and organizations, including nonprofit and trade organizations, prominent app developers and forums/organizations dedicated to helping app creators.
  • Work with our data team to produce and share content that's relveant to our audience.
  • Measure engagement, trends and KPIs, and provide reports to executives.
  • Expand our reach into video via channels like Periscope, Meerkat and Youtube.
  • Plan, coordinate and execute offline events to engage with our community.


  • +1 years' experience growing a community in a professional capacity.
  • Experience with social media management tools like Buffer, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, etc.
  • Passion for technology and the desire to try new things before everyone else.
  • Good judgment to decide what content should be used.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and exemplary organizational skills.
  • 4-year-degree or its equivalent.

What Wouldn't Hurt:

  • Experience producing marketing materials, including graphics and video.
  • Understanding of the app industry, whether as a maker or spectator.
  • An interest in emerging social media trends.
  • Proven ability to connect with a diverse audience.
  • A large following on personal/professional social media profiles.
