Jr. Data Scientist

 Full Time | New York, NY (lower east side)

We're looking for sharp-minded number crunchers to help us make sense of the mobile app industry. You'll be working with our data science team to analyze complicated data sets and provide our members insights about how apps are performing across various stores.

You'll be

  • Analyzing raw data that could be used to complement current and future projects
  • Identifying relationships within large and seemingly unrelated data sets
  • Managing long term research projects and field research requests from the Sales, Data Science, and Backend Engineering teams
  • Providing market research on the app economy, the results of which will be used internally as well as for market reports we publish
  • Solving complex problems with large and unstructured data in clever and creative ways
  • Helping to improve and optimize existing processes used by the team


  • You have at least a bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science or a related quantitative discipline
  • Have one or more years of professional experience with statistical modeling and analysis, along with data visualization tools/techniques
  • Have experience with modern statistical software such as Python, R, or SAS
  • Have the rare quality of being able to work independently with general instructions while retaining the ability to collaborate effectively with other team members on shared projects
  • Are curious and an eager to become an expert in a new field

What won't hurt

  • Experience with time series modeling and forecasting
  • Working knowledge of Linux
  • Experience with pandas, numpy, scipy, scikit-learn
  • A good understanding of machine learning topics such as neural networks and natural language processing
