Plex at one time, was the champion of the independent, home media-owner. Then they started adding newer and newer features drifting away from home media owners. More ad-driven. I got fed up with Plex (I’m a Lifetime Pass member); and began looking for Plex alternatives. That’s when I found Infuse. I like Infuse a lot. More the way Plex USED TO BE. I’m very happy with Infuse. Technically, this is not a media “server”, but it does what i need it to do. It had no trouble finding my NAS. Can’t speak to Transcoding; I’m not savvy enough, but if you just need to play a movie (DLNA; Direct Play) or a Playlist, Infuse works just fine.
