A game changer

I very rarely write reviews but sometimes the need arises.
This is one of those times.
My teenager has complex additional needs and is still at the beginning of her reading journey
Reading is the one thing she is desperate to do (and she pretends she can).
Over the years we have tried so many things to help her, apps, tutors, flash cards, games. You name it, if there’s a way to try, chances are we have.
We downloaded ‘Teach Your Monster to Read’ 3 days ago, so we are very much at the beginning of our journey but as I said in the title, it’s been a game changer for us.
She is engaged, happy and desperate to do it, and in 3 days has racked up 3 hours of “playtime”. In those 3 days I am already seeing her grow in confidence, so whilst it’s too early to comment on progress I’m hopeful (I’ll update my review to reflect progress at a later date).
Her favorite thing to do is collect ‘trickys’ having managed to collect 26 in 3 days (I know because we have to recount them each time she gets a new one!)
My daughter struggling to read has been the one thing I’ve felt saddest about throughout all her challenges, purely because it’s so important to her. I now have hope.
So thank you to the developers for creating such an engaging, all accessible program.
