I have tried many adblockers. I have no problem whitelisting sites that use non intrusive advertising or just sites that I want to support. This is the only blocker that I have tried where the whitelisting works.
And if it misses anything adwise for scummy sites you don't trust,you can create custom filters to get rid of the ads.
