The beginner learner’s best friend!

As someone relatively new to learning Japanese with a short attention span and a ton of self doubt, I found myself wanting to dip my toes into immersion by using a dictionary to search vocabulary. This app was my hero. It’s intuitive and easy to read, with a built in list system that lets you keep track of how many words you’ve searched for any given media or topic. Great for building study decks or reviewing vocab before a re-read attempt. Drawing kanji is very forgiving for beginners who aren’t experienced with stroke order, and even if that fails, the radical search is very easy to read and much easier to parse than a website like Jisho. Even as someone still very inexperienced, it’s made reading material relatively easy to get into. The motivation and patience to do so must come from within, im afraid, but if you have the fuel this app will be your engine.
I’ve been having a wonderful time playing games in japanese with the assistance of this app, and I don’t doubt that i’ll be deferring to it time and time again for many months as I continue my little journey.
