When I started learning algebra in school I discovered I was actually pretty good at it for my first time. Only now I realize that my parents had been tricking me into learning algebra. I had played every almost every day, because it was the only game my parents let me play, I always thought it was just a really creative idea for a game, I had no idea it was related to math in any way. Overall it definitely helps teach math especially to people like me who are to arrogant to try and learn it on their own.
