I crunched the numbers and ranked the most downloaded mobile games in November, and while the top was sticky everything else wasn't - especially on the App Store. And it's not just more movement but also more downloads!
Before we get to the overall chart, I want to point out that only one game didn't change places on the App Store chart. Every single title below 1st place moved around.
The one that didn't is Block Blast, the most downloaded game on the App Store and on Google Play and on the combined chart. Appfigures Intelligence shows Block Blast made its way into 23.1M devices globally. That's a hefty increase from October.
Block Blast continued its reign as the top game since taking the #1 spot from Roblox in September, which took it from Subway Surfers earlier in the year.
Roblox was the second most downloaded mobile game in the world in November, adding 19.1M new users to its pool, based on our estimates. A smidge less than October, but not enough to matter.
Subway Surfers came in third in November, with 15.9M estimated downloads globally. Like Roblox, that's a bit lower than October, but not by much. Subway Surfers has been battling to remain relevant. It used to be the most downloaded game for many years but lost that earlier this year.
Pizza Ready and Vita Mahjong round out the top five most downloaded mobile games for the month, both scoring more downloads in November than in October. The two have made the cut for several months now, showing it's still possible to grow.
Our App Intelligence shows the top 10 most downloaded games in November got 134M new downloads from the App Store and Google Play, up roughly 9% when compared to October's haul.
This will inevitably change in December, the only question is by how much. December is historically the biggest month for game downloads thanks to a perfect storm: millions of new devices activated as holiday gifts, kids out of school with time to explore new games, heavy marketing budgets from publishers competing for attention, App Store and Google Play promoting their year-end lists, and gift cards being redeemed. All of this adds up to a significant surge that typically reshapes the rankings.
